SplitNOW warning

Yesterday (August 25th 2026) we ran a fresh round of XMR → BTC swaps through 14 services — including SplitNOW, who are heavily promoted across socials. We wanted to see if they actually deliver what they promise.

They don't. SplitNOW are (double) cheats.

• Their UI showed we'd receive 0.001549 BTC with the status at 100% done
• Only 0.001514 BTC actually arrived
• That's ~2.3% less than their own displayed amount and ~7.8% below their initial quote
• On-chain proof captured — the payout transaction was recorded while their page still claimed the higher amount
• No market move explains it. The market was flat during the swap. They simply pay less than they show

Don't use SplitNOW.

Methodology

We swapped 0.3 XMR → BTC on each service simultaneously, to the same destination address. All swaps were made through our own referral links, and the rates were compared after adjusting for how XMR/BTC moved during each swap window — important, because all services except WizardSwap and BitcoinVN (fixed-rate only) use floating rates.

Full results — did they pay what they promised?

After adjusting for market movement, every service except NanSwap, Quickex and of course SplitNOW paid more than their initial promise.

What each service actually charged

Here's the fee each swapper really took, measured against the honest market rate at execution:

• CCE — 0.24%
• FixedFloat — 0.50% (disclosed float fee)
• StereoSwap — 0.75%
• StealthEX — 0.76%
• Swapuz — 0.91%
• BitcoinVN — 1.20%
• NanSwap — 2.00%
• WizardSwap — 2.09%
• ChangeNOW — 2.24%
• Quickex — 5.32%
• SplitNOW — 8.69% — daytime robbery

Two side notes worth knowing:

1. Quickex has the second-worst fee (5.32%) and pays ~0.5% below its own quote. Its UI also claims "150 XMR confirmations" are required — in reality the swap completed after ~11. Their status display can't be trusted either.
2. The "free" trio isn't charity — it's just how their float rates work. They show you a live rate and pay exactly it.

What we recommend

If you're swapping XMR → BTC today: PegasusSwap and Exolix are the clear winners — free execution, live-ticking rates, and they pay what they show. 0trace is also free but slower (15 confirmations). FixedFloat is honest with a disclosed 0.5% fee. Avoid Quickex (5.3% fee) and SplitNOW (cheats — was never listed on OrangeFren.com).
